Left Chesapeake City this morning. Passed through the C & D Canal and we are motoring toward the opening of the Delaware Bay. So far NOAA has forcast the weather correctly and the wind should not be an issue. Next stop CAPE MAY NJ ! ! ! ! By 5 o'clock tonight.

At quarter of eleven we are approaching Ship John Shoal, I can see it off in the distance. The water is a dark green and the sky is cloud covered. But up ahead there is a break in them and the sun will shine on us. The most ominous clouds will be left behind. Our weather report has changed. Now it reads:

So now in order to get to Cape May (where we were stuck for 8 days on the way down) we may be going through some rough seas at the mouth of the Delaware Bay. We are in 1-3 footers now and they are pretty close together. We've passed the 61 foot red marker. We've had a favorable current (1.2 knots) and some wind with gusts to 15 . We're not at the mouth yet.

Well that was a tough ride. Poor Gary was constantly driving one way and then the next. And with his shoulder still paining him so much. But we are having a great time. Happy to be out of those waves and wind. We just (like 5 minutes ago 3:05) got inside the Cape May canal. It's funny how much I don't remember. We ran 10 knots across the bay.

It seems like every time we pull in to this marina the wind is howling. Today was no different.
The marina is very tight, at least for moving the Victoria around. The dockmaster is instructing us to pull bow in starboard side tie for fueling up. I'm on the stern and Brittany is on the bow. I hear this sickening squeeeeek. I turn just in time to watch helplessly as the tip of the dinghy catches the dock pole behind us. The davit starts to tip with a horrible crunching, ripping sound and the dinghy hits the water as the wood lets go under the davit plate. Gary was furious that I hadn't been watching closer, and he was right. I felt terrible......but that won't help him repair the damage. At 79.00 a night I hope he'll be able to work his magic and get it back together well enough to get us home. After asking him if there was anything I could do to help "NO", I left him alone and went to do laundry and take a real shower for the first time in weeks it seems. Maybe some nice fresh socks and underwear will help his disposition....lets hope.

Unbelievable...................I get back and he has it completely back together, and the dinghy is back up on the davit!!

Keep us in your prayers, your in ours
