Another 8:00 start and today we'll be driving from inside. The weather change is quite dramatic. Two days ago it was hot, humid, and sticky. Today its overcast and we're all inside because its raw and chilly. How cozy, Gary is driving, Eddie is in the chair RIGHT behind him, Brittany is sitting on the couch with the computer doing homework and Misty is by her side. I'm cooking sliced potatoes with fresh garlic, and red onions. I threw in a left over hamburger for umph. Then I cooked up some eggs and toast and VIOLA.............. breakfast.
It started getting to be around 2:30 and the tide had been against us almost all day. So we started looking for a place to roost. Just by chance we passed Osprey Marina. A charming little place tucked in off the Waccamaw River. We are back to brown tea water by the way. They only had room for 2 more boats and only for one night. We made it in by the skin of our teeth. There were other boats waiting in the channel for the word from the dockmaster. The Veritas and the Victoria got the go ahead to proceed into the marina. Veritas went first. Victoria had to stand to in the channel till they got the Veritas settled in. Then it was our turn and what a tight squeeze it was too. But we got in no problem. With Gary driving, Brittany at the bow and me at the stern pushing the stern off with the boat hook we scooted around and tied up.
After showering in their AMAZING bathrooms (you'd a been in your glory Sheila) we started getting ready for dinner on the Veritas. Tonight its their combined efforts on a tantilizing Beef Stew. As I came out of the shower I noticed on the grill counter "Complimentary piece of Pistachio Pie... just ask the cook" . Well I hadn't eaten lunch and a head ache was starting to kick in so I asked the cook. Sure enough out came a beautiful piece of green pie with a dark brown crust. I started in on it right away and here comes Gary to buy a couple of bags of ice. Caught with my hand in the cookie jar!! Gary then gets the idea to ask if they have a whole pie to buy. The cook Jonathan said no not to buy but you can have whats left in the fridge. Turns out it was 5 pieces. Just enough for everyone. We went over and had another delicious meal with France and Ian. While we were there we discovered an abundant turtle community which we promptly started throwing chips to. They were quite enthusiastic.
**NOTE** My Mom made it to Amanda and Waynes in PA! ! WOO HOO You go girl!!
