May 5th Friday - destination - Toms Point Creek

PICS:
Believe it or not this is a 37 foot Great Harbor, Its 1 foot shorter than ours
I'll enter another post just so you can see UGLY in a few diff colors
Gary looking for land with young Edward (what a devoted father)
A whole lot of nothing going on for miles
Dolphin activity in Tom Point Creek - a beautiful spot- still haven't caught any fish myself
Gary and I woke up about the same time and immediately readied for shore. Brittany was still snorin. Eddie got to go potty, I took a shower on shore, we bought 2 bags of ice and then its back to the boat. We need to get ready for the 9:00 bridge opening. Ian and France invited us over for dinner tonight. It's so much nicer traveling with another boat, especially when they want to cook!!
We're passing through Brickyard Creek which joins the Coosaw River. I've started the book "Chesapeake" by James A Michener. So now when I'm traveling through it perhaps I'll have the perspective of Pentaquod a Susquehannock Indian. I hope. There are times when Gary gets pretty bored so I started reading it to him. He's really enjoying it.
The sun is beating down on us and there is little wind today. We turned the weather radio on just in time to hear an announcment that a potentially dangerous weather situation is possible later on this afternoon with hail and 60 mph winds. We'll keep an I on it.
Our destination is mile marker 495 Tom Point Creek. Its supposed to be a great holding spot and hopefully we'll have internet conn. We've been losing connections constantly in the "creeks".
We've travelled Ashepoo River and are getting set to turn N onto South Edisto River. There are a few green biting flies hangin around but not to bad.
Well Brittany was on the phone last night till 10:30. The cut off is 10. Looks like phone privaledges will be severed for this evening.
It's a quarter to two in the afternoon and the clouds have begun to gather. The wind is picking up too. We've been motoring in the Dawho River which in a very short while, will merge us into the Wadmalaw River. The N Edisto River goes to the right.
After anchoring in Tom Point Creek I went for a dip. It was so hot, and there was so little wind. While I was swimming some 3 Dolphins started swimming toward me and I chickened out and scrambled up the ladder. Gary was in the dinghy with Eddie over at the VERITAS visiting. Everybody got a good chuckle. I think the Dolphins were laughing too.
France and Ian made Turkey burgers with toasted buns, with lovely tomatoes and all kinds of condiments. Gary enjoys doing the preparing and made another excellent salad. Finely shredded cabbage with fresh green beans and assorted other goodies. At one point we were outside in the salon and this massive black cloud looked like it was rolling past. We heard lots of thunder and saw lots of lightening of in the distance, what a show. But all we got was rain and that was short lived.
After drying off the dinghy we went "home" to a little bit of a soggy abode. Thankfully the hatches got closed and the cat box got shoved inside.
Nothing worse than a soggy cat box.
Keep us in your prayers, your in ours
