May 29th On to: Solomons Island Maryland

PICS: Eddie at Corgi crossing

busy out at the lighthouse

Real dogs don't have tails- a Corgi enthusiast in Deltaville

Osprey excercising his young wings

cleaning the anchor

We started this am around 8:15. Its kinda foggy. The anchor was filthy. It needed lots of hosing down. Brittany wasn't feeling well so Gary and I did the anchor together. Then I took pictures. :)

I was upstairs with Gary and he pointed out a big turtle that was at the surface swimming. He also pointed out two skates that were swimming just under the surface. They were about 2 1/2 feet across and they appeared to be tan. So graceful, swimming together in pairs. They are too fast to capture them in a picture.

The weather is perfect for traveling in the Cheaspeake today. Almost no wind, about 5 mph. Although It's not so good if you have a sail boat.

We passed Windmill Point. We passed the mouth of the Rappahannok and the Potomac. I read about these places in school but they've never been more alive for me. We're looking and traveling the same waterways that Captain John Smith did. It's just fantastic.

Just arrived in Solomons Island, Maryland........its 5:26
