Yes at 2 am this morning we woke up to police helicopters circling overhead shining their spot lights down on all the boats, police boat in the water with spot lights searching the shoreline, and cops on foot with dogs searching the woods. They disappeared almost as fast as they arrived. Who knows if they caught whomever they were searching for. I was tempted to try to capture it on film and then thought against it.
Gary is now dubbed the fisherman of ALL fisherman. When he went to get into the dinghy to bring Edward to shore, there was a fish in the dinghy. It must have jumped there. A baby striped bass about a foot long. Upon returning to the boat it was obvious that Eddie had gone in for a dip. Seems he had to "GOOOOO" really bad. Gary said he perched on the front of the dinghy like a parrot, and jumped prematurely toward the dock. Gary got to him just in time to catch the look on his face. He made eye contact with Gary and then his front paws slid off the dock into the water. He dove headfirst beneath the surface of the dark nasty water, Gary reached in and grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and threw him on the dock. Eddie never missed a beat.......he shook off then ran and tinkled all in a matter of seconds.
The rush is on to get to the Bridge of Lions in St Augustine. Seems they are reconstructing this historic landmark and are building a temporary bridge beside the old. For those of you who are interested here is a website that can take you on a virtual tour. Pretty cool.

Anyway, what all that means is the bridge is closed and will only open at certain times. On some days only at 4 hour intervals. Some days not at all. The boats are backing up waiting for 7 O'clock Thursday night to get further north. For those of you who remember..........St Augustine is where our side window got taken out due to something called the local "dance". Thats when 1 boat out of the whole anchor field, starts to move up and down and all around. Then it shoots out across the water and heads for another boat. We never would have believed it if we hadn't been on board when our buddies boat headed for us for the second time. I was inside cleaning up the glass from the first impact. In hindsight it was a blessing that we wern't onboard for the first impact. The bow pulpit of the Magali came right in the window where Brittany usually sits and uses the computer. Anyway, Gary and Brittany were outside talking to a very upset Jean Marc when it did it again. Everyone was scrambling around and holding the MAGALI off the VICTORIA. So anyway that's where we are headed today. Looks like we are going to the Matanzas river anchorage a couple of miles away to stay away from the craziness that is sure to ensue when that bridge opens. Pics to follow. That won't be till Thursday night I think.
Last night France and Ian invited us over for dinner on VERITAS. It was very good, noodles and meat sauce. Home made. Must be so nice to have refrigeration and a freezer and all. Well we can't complain to much. We ran the generator all day with the frig plugged in on high, and then at the end of the day turned it down to low and ran it all night on the inverter. It stayed around 40 degrees yesterday. That seems to be the recipe for keeping things chilled.
Keep us in your prayers, your in ours

PS
Please keep my friend Wendy in your prayers. Her surgery went longer than expected, was more involved than anyone could forsee, and she is more uncomfortable than anticipated.
