April 15th cont'd Sat evening

Well so much for good fishing. For me anyway. I fished all evening. Fish jumping all around me.
Tarpon 6 feet in length jumping straight out of the water like a huge knife. Those little 'propeller fish" as Gary calls em skirting along the surface. Anyway I fished just like I was told and all I caught was a waterlogged Mangrove branch. GRRRR I'm in the mood to visit, but Gary doesn't
feel like taking down the dinghy and attaching the motor, and everything, he's bushed. So am I and I don't mind him doing all that. Actually I'm bushed to and can't wait to get started early.

I had a VO and seven and Gary had a Scotch. Then He cooked an excellent dinner w pasta, garlic & onions, mushrooms and fresh green beans. Plus a salad and sliced bread to boot. Delicious. Brittany finished watching the "Classic" Parent Trap w Haley Mills. We were sitting up on the bridge relaxing and we could hear her laaaaughing. She finished just in time to eat.

I read to Gary for a while from "The Curve of Time" by M Wylie Blanchet. I've been reading it for a while because it's not a novel that runs together and flows. So you can read a chapter here and there and things still make sense.

Brittany and I have quite a number of bug bite. As some go away others appear. The little gadget that we bought in the hardware store in Everglades city works great for a while on mosquitoes. No seeums are another matter. I keep wanting to save it till sunset or dawn. By
that time I've already been biten. That SKINSKREEN is excellent.....as so are the SCREENS!

At anchor Gry reminds us not to use the power for frivilous things like videos and fans etc. So a great thing to have on board (besides more battery power) is battery operated fans. Anything to move the air around.

Observation; Brittany is being very mature condsidering we've lost all contact with the outside world including "ZAC" Oh nooooooooo.

It's 8:05 and Gary just caught our first fish off the boat. Its a catfish, not just any catfish like in fresh water. Oh no........its little, but its an everglade catfish with a couple of poisonous barbs. So removal is done with a pliers and alot of caution. I'm hot, and itchy, and tired.
