Wednesday- preparing to leave

The pic. was taken in Vero by Leona, but it had the whole waving bubeye thing goin on.
Yesterday Gary and Brittany drove up to Clearwater and sold my car. CARMAX opens at 11, and by 1:30 Gary had a check in his hot little hand for the full blue book value. My 1999 Olds Alero, with 70K miles on it, needing tires and a front left hub bearing........ is now history. :-( Does anyone out there ever get attached to your vehicle? Anyhow, I'll get over it. The check is already on its way (via us postal service) to our account. Wendy (a buddy of mine here at the marina) and I had driven to Tampa for a different reason. She was finishing up her six pack Captains license requirements. Captain Wendy completed her errands and then swung around and picked up the (car) orphans and the remnants of the car contents. All that just in time for lunch at Ruby Tuesdays right across the street, and it was excellent. Getting your captains license is a tough process. The school is not quite as expensive here as back East, about $500 bucks +++. It's two grueling weeks of school from 6:30 to 10:30 including Sat and Sun. and then the test on the following Sat. Then you have to do all this other stuff like a +physical, +fingerprints etc. She did all that in terrible pain from a back injury. CONGRATULATIONS Captain Wendy on your new commission! !
After we got back , Gary and I worked on doing last minute things and Brittany is finishing up her 3rd quarter of school.
Nick and Sheila... on their newly aquired (2 months) Benateau (make of boat) Fifty Fifty...asked us over for cocktail hour. I finished up the laundry and scooted over on my bike. I ride my bike everywhere, even up and down the docks. Nick said I'm called the bike lady. It could be worse. I can live with that. I love riding my bike.
We've had our boat cards made up for the trip back. As usual we waited till the last minute to do that and so had no time to get a pic of the boat on the cards. Grrr but they came out nice.
