Wednesday the 8th of March Brittany is back in the fold

Monday the 6th Kirah turned 9 years old! ! Happy Birthday angel. GGGGRRRannnnndmama and Grampa love you tons and tons! ! Wonderful to hear that your enjoying your Mister Cat! No overnighters, XXOO (she lost the last one on a sleepover)
After alot of tears Amanda dropped Brittany off at the airport in Phili yesterday afternoon. Manda, Wayne, and the girls have had her for 2 months! Brittany (15) reported that Manda had to drop her off and leave. There was no time for her to leave the car and get Brittany started with boarding passes and baggage check etc. Brittany was nervous doing it all herself for the first time (understandably) but that's how you truly build self esteem, by doing tough things....outside your comfort zone.... on your own..... to completion. Gary and I never gave it another thought, we have tremendous faith in her. We raised our girls to grow into strong minded, confident, independant women. We are so proud of both of them. Brittany was telling us that she got asked for ID. (you don't need ID till your 18) She looked at the guy and said, "I'm only 15!!" The guy said, "OH". So she went on her way. The winds of change..........................she's growing up. Grampa George and I drove up to Tampa (about an hour) to pick her up. Traffic was great in both directions. Gary met us at their condo and then we went out to dinner. Brittany picked her favorite place (of course) Mr Bones. A great restaurant on Anna Maria Island. Their T shirt motto is "don't even ask". Meaning that they don't offer salt, pepper, or ketchup on the tables and they don't even want you to ask for them. Their cajon chefs are experts at what they do and so no other additives are neccessary. I had Crawfish Gumbo, and Gary, George and Brittany had cheeseburgers. Alice(Grandma) stayed home this time, she wasn't feeling well. Gary gave Brittany "her" phone back so anytime after 7 and weekends that phone will probably be busy.Feel free to call my cell if you need to talk to a Gary or any live person.
I've started supplementing Eddie's food with raw steaks and cheap cuts of meat. Hopefully that will help his shedding issue. He's better as far as getting sick goes and that's a plus. Nothing worse that waking up on the boat to a "funny smell" and having to hose off the deck before your even awake. I learned of the idea (feeding dogs and cats raw meat). Here is their ad:
FLOAT THE POOP! (taken from www.floridapetpages.com)
Have you ever tried to float something picked up from the doggie dumpsite or the kitty litter box in a pail of water? This question may sound ridiculous, but it's the best way to find out if your pet is getting real digestible food, that's actually good for him/her!
If the discharged fecal matter floats like a boat, your current pet food products are more likely to be made of ingredients that are easy to digest. If it sinks, you can bet it stinks-both in its awful smell and the ingredients it's made of!
Have you ever seen a dog or cat, wild or domesticated, run deep into a cornfield to retrieve a cob of corn? What they are after is surely not corn, or rice, or any other grain - it's the real meat that darted in front of them, and they are going to risk exhausting every ounce of energy they have just to chase it down and sink their teeth into it, regardless of how long the dog or cat has been domesticated.
Many pet foods contain corn (and/or other grains) as the top few ingredients - low cost fillers to keep pet food prices down. Worse yet, grain filled products require chemically based adhesives because corn and grain just do not naturally stick together.
Your pet cannot digest grains, and often experiences mild to severe medical symptoms from built up toxins! A proper raw meat based diet, however, is highly digestible, with valuable nutrients readily absorbed into the blood stream. Plus, a raw meat based diet will prevent common medical disorders and also produce a much smaller stool with little or no odor!
