Sunday, December 18th Palmetto FL

Here we are at the Regatta Point Marina in overcast and rainy Palmetto FL. It really is
a great place to be ...what with private showering facilities, free coffee, pastry, ice, and news
papers daily. It is Huge however, the docks are about 500 yards long. We are at the end
of dock A. About as far away from the bathrooms and laundry as you can get. Pictures are forthcoming as soon as the sun comes out. That probably won't happen
until we get back from RI. We'll be leaving here on Tuesday for about 2 weeks, for the holidays.
I've been very ill with fever 102, body aches and coughing for the past three days. The only thing left is the lingering cough. So, I'm feeling much better. There are other boaters that have battled the same ailment and they said it lasted over a week. For some it has taken more. Everyone else is still healthy.
We have a missionary boat here which holds church on sundays across the street. My Mom
Shirley came by and we worshiped together with Pastor John. There is a big catamaran here
getting ready to continue on their adventure. The father is from Spain and the Mom is from Buffalo NY. They have three children all home schooled. Their son Daniel played the organ for us at church. Very talented. They all are. They have been here since Oct and they know everyone. Everyone knows them as the well behaved, helpful, intelligent kids. Brittany got a tour today with the daughter who's 12. Brittany said it was huge, very plush, and they have steps leading to every bedroom and it has a bath "TUB". A tub is something we haven't seen since we left Gramma Alice's. Which I intend to utilize once we get there. Showers are great, but for me, there is nothing like soaking in a hot tub. Barbara and Bill feel free to warm up your hot tub as well. Oh, and I'd like it to be snowing when we go in it. :-) We'll bring the duck pate', crackers and wine.
Gary and Brittany had a very productive day today. They pumped out the boat today. The marina has a hose connection at every slip. So all you have to do is get the hose and your in business. Oh, The cat Misty is going with my Mom for the two weeks we're away and Eddie is staying with Eddie and Eileen. We kinda tried to talk em out of it , but they wouldn't have it. Sarah their daugher is gonna take on the insane dog for the two weeks. I can only hope that in both cases they fall in love and we can go get a pug. I have connections in PA. tee hee.
We spent the evening on"Grace". A gorgeous 45 ft Hunter. Carmen and Dan speak English, Swedish and German and they had us over for a glass of wine. We helped em set up their blog and boat cards. They have only been married for 3 months. They were in church with us today along with several other boaters. We showed them pictures of Jean Marc's Magali, the Amanzi, and the Voyageur C etc so they could maybe surprise our Bahamazzzz bound friends with a hello from Victoria. Speaking of our boaty friends, David and Kim(Amanzi) are coming for breakfast tomorrow morning ! ! I'll get to return her book now too.
Keep us in your prayers, your in ours
