Monday 12-12 pics of St Lucie Lock Sunday

We woke up Sunday am and felt we really needed to get through the Lock. So after eating
breakfast Gary called the Lockmaster. We got clearance and started for the lock. With me at
the stern , Brittany at the bow, and Gary driving from the flybridge, we manouvrered(sp?)
into place. There were only 2 boats in the lock. The first was a big power boat , and then us.
All the bumpers have to be out, its gonna be a port(left) side tie up. We've been told to use their
ropes. When we got in there we understood why. The walls towered over us, they were black and slimy. I did however find a spot that was dry and signed all our names, Eddie too.

The first lock of the system lifts you approximately 13 feet. So as the water pours in the lines
have to be tended. That means that as the lock fills you have to keep tightening the lines, trying
to keep the boat lined up and the stern close to the wall.

Below is an email I recieved from Patti and Ray from the "Whisper"
