Friday 12-02 Leaving St Augustine ........abruptly

We were at anchor this morning and went into town. My phone rings while I'm trying on a new sweat shirt. Lime green with St. Augustine scrawled across the front. It's Terri on the North C. She thinks we should come back to the boat. She thinks we've drifted to close to the Magali. Thankfully she was around to call us. We hurry back to the boat. Sure enough we were too close, so close in fact, the anchor to the Magali went right through our 8x2 side window. Needless to say Jean Marc feels terrible. He was on board working below when all of a sudden he see's "the big yellow bird" up close to his window. He runs upstairs to see whats going on and as he's running to the bow to "defend" his boat (that's what they call it when two boats are going to collide) his sweater gets caught on a nail and delays him just long enough to allow impact. I imagine if we had been their he would have been teaching us all kinds of new french words. See, there is construction going on. A new bridge is being built and there are barges and tugs going back and forth in front of the anchorage. We beleive that is what caused the weird currents and the collision. We will have to address the window ASAP. Thankfully the laptop which was directly below the window was not damaged, and also that it wasn't a front windshield that smashed. View hindrance is minimum. We left immediately and are underway toward Daytona Beach. While we were leaving Rob and Terri's anchor line got all caught up around their prop (which they fixed with the help of Ray on the Sea Holly). Voyageur C left before all this happened and moved to the other side, safe and sound last we heard. Jean Marc came with us and will anchor with us tonight. Poor guy is just sick about it. We'll be fine.. Gary and I will work together and it will be back as good as new in no time. We have almost everything to fix it on the boat. We'll keep you posted.

Birthday pics from last night to come as soon as Ray emails em to me. stay tuned........

Your in our prayers, keep us in yours
