Hello Everyone
1st) Hello Mom & Jeanne..... and everyone who has repeatedly asked about, and been concerned for my ribs. They are fine and mending on a daily basis. Thank you all so much.
Sorry it took so long this time to update the blog but I've had a hard time keeping the
computer charged. We've been anchoring, and that saves tons of money but the conveniences are harder to come by. When the boat doesn't run for a couple of days we have no power long enough to check emails, pay bills online, and do the blog which is quite time consuming. Pictures expecially take a long time to down load and it eats up alot of juice. Anyway, lets see if I can back track a little. Saturday night we were still in Beaufort (pronounced - Byou fud). Sunday morning we got up and went to shore for showers and then walked all over looking for a church. There were lots of them. In our travels we discovered most of them don't open till like 11:00 so we had time to find a breakfast nook. And what a nook we found. Great little local place that served up grits for only .95 cents and S.O.S. for 2 bucks!! Gary was grateful for a regular cup of joe. We had a nice conversation with the owner who was from Wilkes Barre PA. The husband and wife team were very funny to listen to. He came by and chatted, then gave us a plate of fruit (only done on Sundays) and then he'd say to his wife, "don't forget that table." and she'd reply with,"No kidding I'm getting it , what do you thinkI'm doing!" Then she noticed that the fruit was already on the table, "Your screwing me up Frank." I mentioned that it's nice that he was helping and she looked at me and said loudly, "Oh, he's a pain in the *&^%!" Then with full tummy's we walked a little more and found a nice Baptist Church. :-) That felt great, we really enjoyed the message and Gary said that we should buy a little house right in town (which we could get for under 100K) and go to that church. We got back just in time for the rain to start, and start it did. We had a dinghy full of rainwater Monday that had to be bailed out. Monday evening Gary decided to stay on the hook(at anchor) as the wind picked up. I was not thrilled with the idea. People were talking about wind up to 40 knots . I asked if we could pull into a slip for the night, but to no avail. Well we rocked and rolled and heard the wind howling and whistling through the cables. Gary went out in the middle of the night, like around 2 am to secure some canvas that had become loose. We were also concerned with some of the other boats snapping their anchor line, many of these boats are left unattended too, with growth hanging off like intended gardens. As I lay in my bunk I could feel and hear the anchor line whine and squeek as it was doing what was asked of it at full capacity. Then I'd feel the boat pivot in a circle in one direction and then the other. Good thing I don't get seasick to easy. Aside from all that it was FREEZING. It felt a little like an amusement ride...........in the arctic (slight exaggeration) After staying up all night and being mad at Gary for not pulling into a slip, Tuesday I requested that he bring me to shore for a shower and to get off the boat. I needed some space and also figured the laundry needed to be done. While doing laundry Steve from the "Bikini Club" and I started chatting about the previous nights conditions. He told me that he was at a dock and he and his wife Karen couldn't sleep. With the boat being tied to a stationary object the jerking and noise was terrible. In addition to that he said multiply the noise by how many boat were tied up around you. He said , "You guys were probably better off out there on the hook." Well that's just great....now I have to apologize. grrrrrr . I started walking down the dock toward Voyageur C and Leona stuck her head out. "I have Brittany in here helping me cook, Gary is out at the boat napping, why don't you go make up." So we made up and its all good. About 4:30 we prepared for the evenings festivities. Bill and Leona had been waiting for their new Auto pilot to show up. Auto pilot is a device that will hold your boat to a course, so the captain can cook or go potty or whatever and not have to be at the helm constantly. Well it came in the afternoon mail and so now we have to celebrate tonight. Celebrate we did to, on the Voyageue C. When we got to the Voyageur C the celebrations were already underway. Marco, Sylvia, Heather and Ray from the "Sea Holly" came by from another marina and started off the hor divours with samon and onion on beguettes. Lots of laughing and goofing off then they had to get the courtesy car back so they had to leave. We went inside and started watching an Eagles concert on DVD. Gary stood up at one point, took my hand and we danced to "Peaceful Easy Feeling". then Leona and Bill danced , then Leona grabbed Gary and they danced. Rob and Terri and Brittany sat on the couch and relaxed. It was great fun. Now it's Wednesday and we are underway headed toward an anchorage for tonight. We usually motor for about 6 hours a day. Our next long term spot will be Brunswick Georgia, but probably not until Friday. We'll keep you posted. The book says they're a buck a foot. We'll see. The last place advertised 1.30 a foot and turns out it's 1.50. hmmmmmm
Your in our prayers, keep us in yours

PS With Thanksgiving being tomorrow, Gary and I have discussed the fact that it will be the first time being away from the family since Gary and I have been together. I think we are getting a little homesick right now. We'll be missing and thinking of all of you on this special day of Thanksgiving. God Bless.
