Thurs/Fri 11-11-05 pics in Beaufort NC-Veterans Day

Hello, meet Lori and Chris Mendez with their son Chris and a girl on the way, due Dec. 19 th. Chris is a Sgt. in the Marines and is headed overseas again this week and will miss the birth of their daughter. We are all very proud to have met him Wayne, and we thanked them for their sacrafice.

We've been planning and saving to take this trip down the ICW. We figure about 8-10 weeks (uh huh - took us 77 days) of meandering down to Fl. The VICTORIA is a 38' ft, 1960's Downeast style hull. She was built in the N Umberland Straits, of New Brunswick Canada to fish tuna. She's made out of 1" inch spruce planks over bent Hackmatack frames, and is powered by a single screw 454. She runs on gas and burns about 3 gall. an hr, at about 7+ knots. We don't have any of the original paperwork.
