Friday 11-18-05 Factory Creek SC -near Beaufort-updated

We are anchored up near Beaufort SC. there is a Frost Warning over the entire area. We can expect temperatures to drop into the 30's. Great .....just stinkin ducky. Well, I made the best of the sunshine today as I cleaned the boat while Gary, Bt, and Eddie took a long dinghy ride to find some groceries. What they found was a local yocal place where some jokes were being told and food was being prepared. Ask Gary about Low-rraine's husband and what he did all day. A real knee slapper. Gary bought two dinners. One had fried shrimp and cole slaw and garlic potatoes and the other had white rice with gray gravy, cole slaw and pork ribs that were excellent. All for only 27.50! ! What a deal. I'm looking forward to finding a convenient anchorage and warm weather.
Last night Gary took Eddie to shore. Or the only thing we can call shore. The no see ums incubator. Nothing but dirty crab poop kinda mud, and razor grass. Lovely. Here is our view as of about 4:30. Getting ready to go over to see Franz and Ian on the "Veritas". The second boat behind us in the pic.
Well its now 8:40 pm and my erspective is much brighter. We spent the evening on the Veratis
and they have plenty of heat. They also have great red wine. We joined the Magali and the Ruma for the evening festivities and every one brought snacks. Brittany just mentioned that because your listening to another language your listening skills get excersized. A very astute observation. We will go to bed in a few minutes. there is no wind (thats a good thing) The propane stove is on and the water has heated for an evening cup of tea. Brittany and Gary are having a pleasant conversation about what blankets they prefer to sleep in. Brittany is waiting to get on the net and chat with friends. Tomorrow is a short trip across the river, literally. We'll spend the day in Beaufort. Possibly get a slip. Attend a pink Champagne party on the Veratis(they are getting ready to end their trip for now), and figure out from there where we will spend the night. Franz and Ian sold everything and live on their boat. A friend (and accountant) tends to their mail. He now opens their mail and tells them what they have. He shreds what they tell him and whatever other instructions. He works for about 3 months out of the year. Sometimes they rent a condo. No material ties really. I admire that. I still have my affections for my car, my house ( I'm glad its there waiting for me in June) and other things like that, who knows..........that may change. See you in the morning.
Your in our prayers, keep us in yours
