Thursday 27th -05 An Eddie story update

We got out under the bridge early this AM. To grab the mail. I turn my back for a second to go to the bathroom and Gary and Eddie took off!

Anyway, Gary just got back and there is still no mail. Eddie is happy though, he got to go potty on terra firma. Pictured is Gary relaxing after he talked to George just now. The pre-paid flat rate envelope got returned because it weighed too much. So much for that theory. No worries, as long as we know where it is. Okay , Donna(at the PO) u in twubble now. We'll have it overnighted or something to the next convenient spot. Perhaps the Solomon Islands. We'll be there by about 2:30 this afternoon.

Last night, forgot to mention, The girls(me,Leona & Kim) got together on the Victoria for cocktails and snacks. It was freezing so one topic of conversation was what clothes we should have brought with us. Some more prepared than others. No problem, I had on a tee shirt (keeping American Mussel Harvesters, Inc close to my heart) a long sleeve T shirt, a fleece vest, a wooly pull over with hood, a sweat shirt, and a windbreaker. On the bottom I had on flannel jammie pants, black parachute type pants, wooly socks and my muck boots. Oh yeah I'm stylin.
We just passed Amanzi, check her out under sail!

We arrived at Solomon Islands and quickly found the referred anchorage that we got from Ray and Patti. After getting settled in Gary, Brittany and Eddie headed out to shore for a potty break and to check things out. There is a Holiday Inn right near shore. After getting to the dock, while Gary was tying up the dinghy, Eddie tinkled like usual with a look of satisfaction on his face. This guy comes out of the dock house and said,"If you can't control your dog, you'll have to leave." Gary looked down at Eddie, and Eddie looked up at him innocently. Gary's thinking, what did the little gerbil do? The guy then informed Gary that it was 2 bucks to dinghy up. Gary apologized for Eddie's indiscretion and started on his way. Gary stopped and turned to face the guy and asked, "What's the name of this place?" The guy replied as he looked down at his worn shoes," Hospitality Harbor" Gary looked him in the eye and said," Thank you very much, have a nice day" A land Jackass, very unusual specimen. Yeah right.

The radio is on 72 and Bill and Leona from the Voyageur C asked everyone over for dinner. Leona served up an amazing Paella. Everyone brings whatever and it always works out great. Box wine is big on the boat. Last night Franzia Burgundy was the box of choice. We had lots of music too. After dinner the tables were folded up and the dancing began. We danced and laughed till midnight. What a great group of Canadians. Halifax, Montreal, and Quebec are nicely represented.

American Mussel Harvesters, Inc only has the best restaurant ready shellfish available, in my humble opinion. We're talking the sweetest Oysters, delectable Mussels etc. They have this amazing filtering system that produces shellfish with no grit or dirt of any kind. I'll only eat their product because I know that I'll never get grossed out by biting on sand, or some foreign object.

check out their website below for some excellent shellfish recipes, and directions.
