Saturday-We're in Annapolis MD ! ! !
We have picked up a mooring (#11) and are preparing to stay here to wait out Hurricane Wilma, possibly till wednesday. Sorry I haven't been blogging, there have been frequent times that I haven't had access to the internet. I don't believe that will be a problem here. Friday night we had dinner at the "La Jean Marc" it's a fancy French restaurant (The vessel Magoli actually) where we had great food and great company. Pictured is Jean Marc who has become quite a member of the family and is an awesome master chef. Since we've known him we've been introduced to duck pate' and french wine, last night we indulged in marinated cucumber salad with cherry tomatoes, and a wonderful combination of vegetables sauteed in a "secret" french sauce. David and Kim came with wine and we brought a rice dish to contribute.
Saturday we arrived in Annapolis and it is overcast and rainy. Leona and Bill stopped by to invite us over to the Voyageur C for cocktails. Leona served cheese and crackers along with a wonderful Salmon and goat cheese spread, Fantastic. By the time we left there to go into town and grab a bite I was already satisfied. We all (8 of us) walked around town singing, laughing and talking. On a referral we stopped at a place ......something Galway. After we sat down Gary and David looked at each other and it was understood that this is not what we wanted. Besides that the place was jammin and they could only seat us at separate tables. Some of us waited outside while some tried to round up Jean Marc and Leona who had already started to settle in. After getting everyone back together outside we walked some more.. looking for a better place, something that would better suit this boisterous happy crowd. While we walked we noticed an abundance of uniformed persons walking around and so I started talking to a couple of very nice (and respectful-I got Ma am'd) young men. I introduced Brittany and mentioned that she was interested in looking into the Navy. They we're all too willing to tell her anything she wanted to know. They were also walking us to a place where we could get a beer and a burger. How can you beat that! We had a great time and when things started to get a little out of hand, we left.
When we got back to the dinghy everything was soaked. Thankfully it had stopped raining. So we sat and putted home in the wet. All I could think of was "no worries" I have my little heater to dry and warm everthing.
My new best friend is the portable heater. Brrrrrrrr.
Your in our prayers, keep us in yours
