New Gretna -Fri Oct 7th Breakfast with Bill n Diane
Overcast and warm. I woke up this morning and it wasn't raining so I took Eddie for a walk, for an hour. It's 8:00 and time to get ready to go over to the "Sea Spirit" for breakfast. For those of you who know that our first boat was called the "Sea Spirit", here's a little Thompson trivia. We bought it from BillNDiane.
I'll try to update as something new happens. Don't want to bore you. Looks like we may be here for one more night. Weather looks promising for Tues in the Delaware Bay. It's a timing thing. Gotta plan to leave here, so that we can be there for good weather.
Bill cooked breakfast and it was delicioius. Eggs, toast and butter, and Canadian bacon. Diane, Brittany and I shopped while the guys hung out and got caught up. We've been introduced to several co-dockers in the Allen's Dock community. Everyone has been very nice. Diane had toiled, and cleaned(in the rain) a bunch of Blue Claw Crabs that she caught in a trap right at the dock. They actually do have beautiful blue claws and they were very good. She just steamed em up with garlic, and LOTS of Old Bay seasonings.
Most of the afternoon we just hung out and relaxed. When dinner time came we were treated to a delicious dinner that Bill had caught on his fishing trip. Yellow Fin Tuna steaks grilled with potato salad, and clams casino. Fantastic! The scenery wasn't bad either. The Viking Yachting Center has these little gazebos that are screened in. They also provide picnic tables so you can eat comfortably. Gary asked the dockmaster about borrowing a grill and he said "no problem you can use mine" so we did. So we sat with old friends eating a wonderful meal overlooking the marina. It sprinkled on and off and there was a lovely breeze.
Gary and I showered and went to bed. It was 8:30. (thats a little after boaters midnight which is 8:00) :-)
