Daylight Savings Time- leaving AntiPoison VA

First Picture is of course the Magali with Jean Marc at the helm pulling into AntiPoison Creek
Second Picture is of Leona in her trademark Yellow jacket getting ready to drop the anchor last night.

Good morning everyone!!
We had a nice time laughing and snackin last night on the Voyageur C. Bill & Leona have a great space that seats everyone and it's protected from the elements, not to mention toasty warm. Its really wonderful being able to click with so many amazing people. Leona with her constant smile, Bill with his dry sometimes corny wit (we do alot of bud-um dum), Kim with her quick wit and insight, and David always ready to throw his head back and laugh. Jean Marc is very funny many times not trying to be. Usually we're laughing as he translates something like Dinky instead of dinghy, stuff like that. His heavy french accent adds to the humor and being single he gets into different senarios than the rest of us would. Like the last time he was ashore he went to a bar for a beer. (We have a BIG brown beer with burger and fries-song). A large black woman with big red lips approached him. He tried to be corgial and polite. She came right out and boldly asked him for what she wanted from him. (He tells us these stories all in broken English, plus his expressions are priceless). At that point he said, "It's time to go......."

Last night there was a gorgis :-) sunset, and no rain to be had. Cold.......pretty cold in the dinghy, or dinky as Jean Marc says it. This AM its not to bad........The sun is shining brightly and we are underway. Hope everyone turned there clocks back and noone missed church. We are listening to Charles Stanley online this AM as there was nothing in Anti Poison accept a quiet place to drop an anchor, which we were very thankful for. Today there is a small craft advisory (same as the one we got caught in yesterday) but we are pushing south. Gary is getting more comfortable handling the boat in rough weather, so its all good. Oh, while Gary took Eddie for his morning romp, they heard a clicking noise. Gary told Eddie , "QUIET" and he actually was. They walked a bit toward the noise near the tree line and peered through. In a pretty little meadow there were 2 huge Whitetail Bucks crashing there antlers together. Then Eddie could contain himself no longer and with a woof....................................they were gone............dun dun duunnnnn.

Gary won't be leaving the helm today. We're gettin it on the beam (meaning the waves are hitting us broadside). It's really rockin and rollin. We have alot of miles to do today (about 45 more) in this junk. The small craft advisory should be over by about 1 O'clock. Because the steering system is manual Gary will get quite a workout.

We are in Woloughby Bay VA. A very busy harbour. Waterside Marina is an AMAZING place. John and Steve greeted us to help with the tight docking situation. There is a laundry, and showers facility. Excellent. After getting settled in everyone headed for the showers to clean up and relax a little. I was getting off the Victoria laden down with an over stuffed shower bag , and some tired legs. I stepped up with my left leg onto the gunnel and was having trouble when I miss stepped with my right foot. I hadn't lifted my leg high enough and so the gunnel dragged down my right shin, I stayed low to minimize the impact that I new was inevitable. Down I go smashing my knee as I went. Boating is making me tougher. I layed there on my back for a minute. Gary and Brittany came running over with the expected questions. I sat up, made a couple of faces, rubbed my leg , caught my breathe , and got up saying, "I'll be all right, thanks" Everyone got together afterwards and walked into Norfolk VA for dinner. Everyone accept David and Kim (Amanzi), who went off to take care of an errand. Hopefully we will hook up with them again soon. It is Sunday night and the town is practically closed down. However, we did find a sports bar with TV's blaring and people rooting for their team every so often. The food was excellent and after a short walk back we were onboard and getting ready for a great night's sleep.
