First night away from home - 9/30/05

We motored for 7 hours and we went 43 miles. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH no just kidding.
We had NW winds up to 15 knts a good portion of the way, with 1-3 foot seas.
We've anchored up in a lovely little spot West of the breakwater near Saybrook Light Ct. We'll be shooting for Port Jefferson Saturday and we may hook up with Freddy and Liz(friends of the family). Marine weather update said that it will be in the high 30's tonight!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrr Left just in time. Good thing we met/spoke to Jay W. out at Larry and Lenore's mooring at Ram Point before we left. He reminded us we may need a little heater. He was right. Thanks Jay.From the bottom of my heart, hands and feet .Eddie had his life jacket on while we were underway. And he will (unless I get lax), whenever we are motoring. Misty has been great and came up with a very clever way to let us know she isn't feeling well. Whenever she gets a little sea sick she meow's.... in a drawn out, moaning sort of way. This gives us plenty of time to get her up into the wheel house where clean up is a breeeeeeeeze. We'll be feeding her at night from now on. Brittany is playing her guitar up on the bridge (as the saints go marching in)and she got some school work done today. Brittany is signed up in a private school out of Gray Maine. This provides us the flexibility to continue her education while cruising. We will have to send in a quarterly packet with copies of her work. She also has contact with her certified teacher through email, telephone and fax...when available. Gary is sitting on his gang box at the stern studying his charts and Eddie is sitting in the dinghy.......while its up on the davits. Wonder what he's thinking about?
Your in our prayers, keep us in yours
